The Ohio River forms the entire southern boundary of Ohio, and Lake Erie provides more than 2/3 of its northern boundary. Cincinnati is on the northern bank of the Ohio River, and Cleveland is on the southern shore of Lake Erie.
The Ohio to Erie Trail (OTET) links Cincinnati on the Ohio River with Cleveland on Lake Erie.

The OTET is also designated Ohio Bike Route #1 in the US Bicycle Route System (USBRS). Details about OTET can be found at OhioToErieTrail.org
What follows is a series of posts that report on my north-to-south bike trip from Cleveland to Cincinnati on the OTET in July, 2021. Each post reports on one day of the trip, and the first line of each post identifies the destination for the day and the miles travelled.
(The posts include many photos, and it is better suited to viewing on a large screen.)
I feel compelled to explain that I don’t see myself as a bicyclist; I see myself as more of a tourist with a bicycle. In light of this, here are two things to keep in mind as you read these posts:
(1) I photographed and wrote about things that interested me, and (2) You aren’t me.
I expect that no one will be interested in everything I’ve written in the next (8) posts + an epilog. When you find yourself asking “why did he write about this?” just skip ahead to the next topic, or the next post. Or, you may find that just looking at the pictures is more interesting than reading the surrounding text.
In any case, I hope you find something interesting . . .
